Architectural Heritage Fund

Since 1976, The Architectural Heritage Fund (AHF) has backed over 2,400 projects across the UK, providing over £180 million in total support, and this exhibition celebrates those 50 years telling the story of how heritage reuse can make a difference in people’s lives and communities. The exhibition highlights 50 key AHF projects and tours the four nations, at Riddel’s Warehouse in Belfast, The Briggait in Glasgow, the Norwegian Seamen’s Church Cardiff and The London Centre.

A complicated design problem, this exhibition had to fit into four very different spaces, be reconfigured each time whilst keeping the narrative thread and also be easily assembled by 2 volunteers. We based these displays in a series of ‘curbstones’ that anchor the panels and are coloured according to each theme. Riddles Warehouse in Belfast presented particular challenges due to the unfinished raw nature of the building. We embraced this, lighting the exhibition and opening event with site lights, which were easily controllable and suited the industrial aesthetic. Seeing Things also designed a catalogue to accompany the exhibition.
