Westminster Abbey
We were approached by Westminster Abbey to design a mini exhibition, documenting the role of the Cathedral in Coronations throughout it’s history. Set in the Chapter House, this was a complicated design and install due to any panel or component not being able to touch the fabric of the building. We opted to use the ornate alcoves to show a series or large scale themed images, allowing for freer flow of visitors due to the numbers expected. Working closely with the Abbeys conservationists, WAWA & Displayways, we devised a system allowing a series of die cut honeycomb board panels to ‘hover’ away from the stonework, allowing airflow to prevent the build up of a microclimate behind the display. The resulting design had to be installed with minimum disruption to what was one of the busiest periods in the Cathedrals history.
